In Uncategorized on September 30, 2009 at 7:26 pm

According to Roberto Cavalli (sorry for the image repeat) and Ralph Lauren they are! I’m not entirely convinced though.

Spring at Roberto Cavalli

This is one show that tickled my fancy in more ways that one. Looking like your from the Deep South, wearing an extremely flattering printed dress (the black panels on the side, drop sizes instantly) or clashing printed pants and jackets. It’s all good.

Josh Goot had a very colourful collection. Making a scene on a global level.

Some of his best new looks. The pants are my favourite! They would make anyone look skinny.

At Marc By Marc Jacobs . Not to mention orange studded bags and highwasted everything. Make a mental note to purchase a Marc or Milly inspired headpiece.

Marc by Marc Jacobs had some ideas for gentleman as well.

Beware: Make sure grandmas knits aren’t lumpy and bulky and do not wear plaid on top if you wear plaid pants.

Not So Naughty

In Uncategorized on September 29, 2009 at 12:03 am

Nude. Another major trend for the seasons ahead. It’s hard to find a designer that didn’t include skin coloured clothing into their collections this Spring. Hopefully, you won’t find clothing that exactly matches your skin colour.

Not So Naughty Nude

Looks from Antonio Berardi, Luisa Beccaria, Herve Leger, Jason Wu, Lauren Conrad, Cat Deeley in Alberta Ferretti, Drew Barrymore in Monique Lhillier, Rose Bryne in Valentino, Fendi, Isaac Mizarhi, Carlos Miele and Maxmara respectively.

Major brownie points.

This seasons “It sunnies” (“it bag” was so 3 years ago) would without a doubt be coming from the house of Gucci. Shoes, bags, backs and belts were the highlight of this collection.

Antonio Berardis spring collection was more like art than fashion. Antonio B recieved mixed reviews but in my books these skirts can do no wrong.

My prediction is that after this wonderful show, we will start seeing giant bows in side pony tails and little black booties.

The Rachel Zoe Project is back for round 2! Rachel has a new apartment, new studio and new mignons. But Brad and Taytay are still the most important. IF your anything like myself, you would have already seen the first 4 episodes on youtube, since it premiered in the states around the 25th of August. Australia is only 6 weeks behind, but not to fear. 10 days from now the Rachel Zoe Project season 2 premieres on Arena (channel 105) on Tuesday 6 October at 8.30pm.

Looking Ahead

In Uncategorized on September 25, 2009 at 12:02 pm

One negetive about being in the southern hemisphere is that we have to wait an extra 6 months to wear what the northern hemisphere already has. That aside, get ready for whats install for next winter. Thanks to Burberry who re-invented their classic trench in numerous way in their Spring 2010 collection.

Here are just a few standouts.

Now normally, you would be reading about this injection of humor on the runway as a nice break from the dire recession. But this is a recession free zone. Where humor is just funny.

Henry Holland designer of “House of Holland” is normally responsible for dressing up dear aggy, this time he has taken a break (and a kitkat) and given us great shirts for future weddings. No fuss.

Wait! Theres more, the shirts have multiple uses like…..
